Meaning is the biggest secret to a meaningful life. It’s so simple, and yet so many people miss it. It’s hidden in plain sight, waiting for you to find it. To get a meaningful life, you need to build inner self-knowledge first.

Self-knowledge is the foundation of all other meaningful activities and experiences. You cannot have a meaningful life if you don’t know what that means to you on a personal level. And that begins with knowing yourself and what you want from your existence.

“All concepts of self-improvement, all actions and paths we take, relate solely to our abstract image of ourselves. Life is limited only by how we really see ourselves and feel about our being. A great deal of pure self-knowledge and inner understanding allows us to lay an all-important foundation for the structure of our life from which we can perceive and take the right avenues,” Bruce Lee explains.

Knowing yourself means learning to understand your core motivations, values, fears and beliefs and finding new ways of looking at those things that make up who you are. This is often referred to as ‘self-awareness’ or ‘self-knowledge’ or simply ‘knowing yourself.’
