Count Each Day as a Separate Life, Like Seneca
Appreciate the here and now
Life is precious and finite. It’s radically short in the grand scheme of things. Each day is a new opportunity to live it to the fullest.
When we forget to appreciate each day completely, we miss out on many experiences, no matter how small, that could help us experience life to the full.
This is where Seneca’s (the ancient Stoic philosopher) philosophy for both meaningful and happy life makes complete sense:
“If you are trying too hard to be happy, you are doing it wrong. Take things one day at a time. “Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life.”
What Seneca meant by this is that we should treat each day as a new opportunity to live our lives to the fullest, rather than simply going through the motions of everyday life.
By embracing this philosophy, we can unlock the secrets to a happy and meaningful life.
