This is The Most Powerful Quote Haruki Murakami Ever Spoke
The one truth an influential writer wants you to know.
I’ve had many overwhelming experiences: loss, pain and recently, grief. I lost a family member who inspired me as a child. The feelings of loss, chaos, and life’s unexpected upsets come fast, without warning. In these experiences, survival feels like the only goal. Getting through. Holding on. But here’s the strange thing: surviving isn’t clear-cut.
Feelings are easier to manage once the storm calms down (but it always comes back). I can’t always recall how I managed it, or how I found strength. I only know that I kept going.
I moved forward, one step at a time.
I held on, not knowing what would come next. The one quote I always go back to is writer Haruki Murakami’s beautiful words. It’s the one thing I remember when things feel overbearing.
He said, “And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
In ancient myths, storms often symbolize transformation.
